Alex Simons is a Financial Advisor and has been with Baird since 2011. She has deep industry knowledge in financial services and tax. After graduating from Mount Mary University, she started her career journey in public accounting with a focus on tax. She reviewed, prepared, and assisted with tax planning for businesses and individuals along with being CPA designated.
Alex joined The GHM Group in January of 2024. Alex's focus on the team is geared towards tax strategy and planning which brings more depth and expertise to the overall financial plan. Alex has an invested interest in working with the next generation and women on financial literacy as she has a belief that education is key to success.
Throughout her career she has understood the importance of giving back and being of service to the community as she has a passion to improve the lives of others. Currently, she serves on the Friends of Lake Shore State Park Board and Finance Committee and is also a board member of her children's school for fundraising. She is also a member of Professional Dimensions, a diverse professional women's organization. Most recently, she volunteers as a money coach for a Wisconsin based program called Secure Futures, where she empowers teens through one-on-one mentorship to educate and build a foundation for long-lasting good money habits.
Alex resides in Milwaukee and spends time in both the Milwaukee and Grand Rapids offices. Outside of the office Alex is typically busy with her three children (Malyna, Theo & Autumn) and husband Jared. She enjoys most of her time in nature on trails or by Lake Michigan, gardening, going to sporting events, playing soccer, seeking out new films and restaurants and meeting new people.
