Community Involvement
Baird has a long tradition of giving back to the communities where our associates live and work.
Our team is committed to supporting the communities in which we live and work by volunteering our time and using our resources. Our ongoing commitment to building relationships in the community and empowering associates to get involved is central to our culture at Baird and our team.
We've engaged with several outstanding organizations, some of which are listed below.
Land Conservancy of West Michigan
Serving to protect and care for private landowners and governmental bodies, the Land Conservancy of West Michigan works towards the preservation of nature for future generations. Founded in 1976, we have preserved over 8,600 acres of land and ecosystems. We partner with the surrounding communities to preserve West Michigan's natural beauty and enrich the quality of life for community members.
Kids' Food Basket
Kids’ Food Basket exists to increase access to healthy food for children and families. Our core belief is that food is a right, not a privilege. Because that is not yet a reality, we mobilize human and financial resources to break down barriers that cause food insecurity. Our services include our flagship Sack Supper program, community-driven farming, family food provision and educational programming. Collectively, we are working toward realizing a hunger-free West Michigan for all.
Friends of Lakeshore State Park
The Friends of Lakeshore State Park partner with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and our community to support Lakeshore State Park as Milwaukee’s premier urban lakefront destination for environmental and freshwater education, conservation, recreation and outdoor enjoyment. The Friends of Lakeshore State Park is a non-profit organization chartered as a 501c(3) dedicated to supporting Lakeshore State Park and its partners. The Friends raise funds for and participate in educational programming, events, infrastructure, and marketing and build memberships and strategic alliances to succeed in these efforts.
Rotary International
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.
YWCA of West Central Michigan
The YWCA of West Central Michigan is dedicated to girls who have been victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse and stalking. To facilitate public health, we work to empower girls and women as well as build a community celebrating peace, justice, freedom and dignity while eliminating racism.
Secure Futures
SecureFutures, founded in 2006, equips teens with money management skills, tools, and mentoring so they can achieve financial capability, reach their goals, and strengthen their communities. SecureFutures is a leader in teen financial literacy with programs that have impacted more than 140,000 teens!
SecureFutures is a two-time recipient of the Governor’s Financial Literacy Award, the 2015 Governor’s Legacy Award, and 2014 Small Nonprofit of the Year at the BizTimes Media Nonprofit Excellence Awards.
Baird Gives Back
Many Baird associates team up during Baird Gives Back Week, an event held annually in the spring, to serve local community organizations that are in need of help.
In spring of 2026, The GHM Group did some spring clean-up in the garden at Alpha Grand Rapids.

In spring of 2025, The GHM Group really enjoyed our time giving back to Alpha Grand Rapids. Alpha provides a variety of services to families, men and women, with children, who are in need. What an amazing organization!

In 2023, our team gave back during the holidays and wrapped packages for the Signing Santa event with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services.

In 2022, our team participated in Kids' Kamp by volunteering with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Grand Rapids, MI. We took part in activities with the children who attended the camp as well as helped with set-up and clean-up for the day.
