The GHM Group had the pleasure of hosting a client appreciation event at John Ball Zoo during their Lantern Festival, and it was truly a special evening. Distinguished Young Women Program - Financial Literacy Workshop

Back in the end of July Alex co-led a a financial literacy workshop for a group of high school senior girls who are in the Distinguished Young Women program which gives them the ability to earn scholarship money college. She partnered up with Rebecca Guardiola from WaterStone Bank who brought her expertise on savings and budgeting. Such an important endeavor to empower these young women to take charge of their financial futures.

Baird Re:Union and PWM Symposium
Most of The GHM Group made their way to Milwaukee to attend the Baird PWM Symposium and Re:Union, where associates from all over the world re-connected.  The event was spectacular and different business units had their own events ultimately re-uniting at the Summerfest Grounds, off of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee, to sing and dance with various musicians like Earth Wind and Fire, Little Big Town and Train to name a few.  There were many laughs and hugs throughout the two days.

SecureFutures Investment Conference
Alex Simons, volunteered as a Money Coach this spring through SecureFutures.  This program provides one-on-one mentoring with high school students on their way to graduation to help them navigate setting up bank accounts, budgeting and understanding credit.  Both The GHM Group and Baird believes in helping the next generation learn financial literacy. Thanks Alexandria Simons, CPA for the work you’re doing to make that happen!

The GHM Group Celebrating International Women's Day

We were joined by clients, Deb O'Leary and Amanda Robertson from the YWCA along with extra special visitors Madison and Emily (babies) who also wore their purple.  The GHM Group held a book swap, created healing bags and learned important information about the YWCA's Nurse Examiners Program which truly makes an impact to the community.

Barbara and Lisa made their way to Milwaukee to join and congratulate Alex on her graduation as a new Financial Advisor.  They also made a stop at the firm Holiday Party and had a great time.  Congrats Alex!

Brad MacLachlan made his way to Salt Lake City for the PIM Leaders Conference which brought Baird's PIM managers together to shared ideas and learn from each other.  Sadly, he missed our above client event, but he came back with many ideas to share with the team.

Alex Simons attended the Engage Women's Conference in Richmond, VA and had an opportunity to speak on a panel with other women in the industry.  She discussed the next generation of women financial advisors along with her path and journey into the industry.

Barbara Griffin and her husband Clay made their way to Ontario to join other Baird associates, families and product managers.  She did well fishing and managed to catch a few along with the Northern Pike pictured below which was 31 1/2 inches!

Baird Growth Forum
Barbara Griffin, Alex Simons and Jeff Hagen attended the Growth Forum in Nashville, TN and continued to learn and enhance their business.  One of the big themes of this year was related to tax planning, strategies and efficiency.  They all came back with new ideas to further enhance their clients portfolios and Jeff came back with a new car.
